Our story
Somewhere between "read your Bible" and Sunday's sermon, a lot of sincere believers live in the same quiet place: I'm reading — but I'm not sure I understand it, and I don't know what to do with it.
Engaging Scripture Well grew out of years of noticing that gap — in small groups, in conversations after church, and honestly, in our own lives. Christians are constantly told to read the Bible. Very few are ever taught how to engage it: how to read a passage in context, name what it actually teaches, test that understanding against the rest of Scripture, and let it reshape a real week with real decisions in it.
It was created by Joshua — not a celebrity pastor or a seminary professor, but an everyday believer who kept meeting that gap and finally decided to build the tool he wished someone had handed him years ago.
That's why this project is deliberately Scripture-centered, not personality-centered. The goal was never "here's what we think every passage means." The goal is that you become confident enough to engage Scripture yourself — which means, if we do our job well, you'll need us less over time. We're at peace with that. We'd call it success.
The goal of Scripture isn't simply that we know more Bible. The goal is that Scripture shapes the way we think, believe, choose, and live.
The conviction behind everything hereAnd it doesn't stop with you. Engagement is the training ground for witness: you can't clearly explain what you've never carefully engaged. When ordinary believers learn to understand Scripture and live it, their lives start telling a story worth asking about — and they have an answer ready when someone asks. That's the quiet ambition of this whole series: believers who read well, engage well, live well, and pass it on.
The bigger path
Engaging Scripture Well is the middle of a three-part discipleship path — a progression that moves from understanding your Bible to thinking through it to living it.
Learn to read the Bible in context — with attention to genre, author's intent, and the larger story — instead of as a collection of isolated quotes.
Learn a repeatable method for interacting with what you read — so understanding turns into biblical thinking, faithful action, and clear words.
A 30-day practice challenge that builds a sustainable, Scripture-shaped rhythm for ordinary, everyday decisions.
